Installation & Care Recommendations:

Prepare soil by removing debris, weeds, and rocks, then till 2–6 inches deep (closer to 6” is generally better than 1-2” depth) and level for a smooth surface. Starter fertilizer is optional—soil testing for nutrient and pH levels is recommended prior to application; if used, apply before installation, not after. Lightly moisten the soil before laying sod. Install along a straight edge, laying pieces tight without overlap and staggering seams in a brick pattern. Trim as needed and roll or tamp to ensure good soil contact, then water thoroughly immediately after installation. Keep sod consistently moist for the first 2–3 weeks (watering multiple times daily in hot, dry weather), then gradually reduce frequency as roots establish; after 4–6 weeks, water deeply and less often. Wait to mow until sod is firmly rooted (typically 2–3 weeks—test by gently pulling), use a sharp blade, cut high, and avoid removing more than one-third of the blade at a time. Sod is perishable and should be installed within 24–48 hours of harvest; avoid installing in extreme heat or freezing temperatures, and if needed, store in a shaded, cool area and keep moist until installation. Sod is a perishable item and is non-returnable or refundable.
